A conservation and extension to a substantial 4 storey 1895 period terrace townhouse opposite the National Botanical Gardens, Dublin. It involved carefully researched reconstruction and repair of the original bay window including green water glass pinwheel detail and the reinstatement of all hardwood sash windows was undertaken. The rear return at first floor was reinstated and below a bespoke kitchen and dining garden level room was grafted seamlessly to the rear. It is finished in oiled mahogany hardwood and covered with a sheltering copper roofed canopy that opens itself fully to the bamboo terrace and garden. The existing stepped section of the return was used to provide additional height in the new garden room that enjoys dual access views towards the garden and to the scented verdant side route that connects the back drawing room to the garden via a stepped hardwood deck. An original existing Attic was fitted with a Belvedere dormer window incorporating a bath and built in window bench seat.
