A large site with long front and rear gardens in Blackrock, this house required a complete reconstruction of the interior and additional accommodation at the side and rear over two levels including a newly positioned main internal staircase serving the first floor and new attic floor bedrooms. A new glazed gallery study is created over looking the stair hall void.
The new recessed entrance porch, ramp and steps are made with Kilkenny Blue Limestone. The stair hall and vestibule is designed with integrated floor to ceiling storage connecting into a new open garden room which is arranged adjacent to an accessible fully glazed, planted courtyard and deep loggia framing the south facing garden. Overhead is a new master bedroom overlooking the garden.
The building was render finished externally and incorporates charcoal grey Aluminium windows with new Zinc roofs and dark hardwood floors throughout. Kilkenny Blue Limestone and pea gravel is used for the terraces at front and back.
